The Surfaquarium is now redesigned and overhauled for 2010. With this iteration of the site, I have retired older projects, newsletters and resource lists that, while I kept them up over the years, really have no place in a 2.0 world. With the new format there are still provisions for recommendations and resource links, but there is also a greater emphasis on social networking, including blogging, Facebook and Twitter.
For the first time in my career I am wedding my Surfaquarium work with my professional work. Therefore, you see links and references to the Capital Region Society for Technology in Education (CRSTE), the regional ISTE affiliate I founded this past year to provide collaboration and cohesion among educators in the District of Columbia, Virginia and West Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. While the initial emphasis for CRSTE is on the national capital region, it is intended in the big picture to foster collaboration both nationally and globally. No matter where you live, I invite you to get involved. CRSTE is a different kind of professional organization. Find out more on the CRSTE site.
So I will be providing a lot more content on the fly through social networking tools and less by maintenance of individual web pages. I hope the result will be a compelling resource that is worth your stopping by from time to time. As always, your feedback is welcome, and I hope you will keep in touch. Here's to great things in the new year for teachers and their students everywhere!
